Chemical Engineer

Carbon60 are currently hiring for a Chemical Engineer or Chemical Analyst to join one of our global-leading clients within the water industry at their site based in Hounslow.

This client is striving for ecological are striving for ecological transformation, providing solutions and solving the world's most pressing needs within the demanding water industry.

We are looking for an individual with extensive UK Water Industry experience and degree qualified in a relevant scientific subject/ Chemical Engineering to both carry out analysis as well as maintain/fault-find/service/repair water treatment equipment.

Due to the nature of this site, applicants must have lived in the UK for the last 5 years continuously and be subject to full DBS check.

 

Salary: Up to £38,000 p/a + Company Car and Fuel Card

 

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Complete water sampling and document findings
  • Calibrate Equipment and operate dosing pumps - changing dosing rates when necessary and generating calibration certificates
  • Specialised maintenance on equipment/technology as required - rectifying and issues and diagnosing error messages
  • Carry out LCA Audits on Suppliers
  • Manage QHSE documentation
  • Assist with execution of projects from surveying to completion
  • Overseeing of scheduled works, ensuring operatives are working as efficiently as possible until completion
  • Manage deliveries of chemicals and salt to customer plant

Desired Skills/Qualifications:

  • Chemistry/Chemical Engineering degree or degree qualified in an equivalent scientific subject
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years' Water Treatment experience from within the UK
  • Experience with Cooling Towers, Closed Systems and Legionella
  • Lived in the UK continuously for the last 5 years and subject to full DBS Clearance
  • Ideally have experience with Chlorine Dioxide units, Steam Boilers, Domestic Legionella control and other industry relevant equipment.
