Carbon60 are working with a market leading pensions consultancy who are looking for a Pensions Calculation Analyst to assist with the production and systems testing of pensions calculation automation software.

Contract Specifics

  • Contract Length: 6-months initially, with potential for extension.
  • Pay Rate: £450-£475 per day (Inside IR35).
  • Hours: 40 hours per week (full-time).
  • Office Location: Surrey.
  • Working Flex: Happy with fully remote working.

Main Responsibilities

  • Code and systems test calculation software including letters, statements, data extracts, and write backs (training to be provided).
  • Interpret business requirements and member data.
  • Provide pensions legislative knowledge.
  • Interact with the external client facing self-service administration teams and the calculation analysts teams based in the UK and abroad.
  • Work on a large portfolio of Defined Benefit (DB), Defined Contribution (DC), and hybrid schemes.
  • Collaborate with the Lead System Consultant team during data migration, to ensure consistency between the data and calculation project streams.
  • Keep stakeholders up to date, share concerns, and propose solutions where appropriate.

Essential Requirements

  • Knowledge of UK Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) pension schemes.
  • Previous experience with pensions system testing.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Good written and verbal communication, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to organise and prioritise own workload.
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative when required, as well as in a team

Desirable Requirements

  • Some prior work with Python (or other object-oriented languages).
  • Working knowledge structured query language (SQL) and UNIX operating system.

Please note: Previous experience in a technical role is not necessary as training will be provided for the programming tools required to build the calculation and reporting software. This will consist of internal modular training courses, an external SQL course (if appropriate), and supported on-the-job work.
