Electrician -Test and Inspection

We are looking for Test and Inspection Electrician for a well known and reputable Mechanical and Electrical Company covering the county of Hampshire.       

Full Time hours -37 Hours a week - van,fuel card,PPE and Testing Equipment supplied.

The Role Involves -

  • To undertake periodic inspection and testing of wiring systems and potentially other electrical compliance works, following customer's scope, specification and instruction, as well as guidance and instructions from Project Managers/Technicians in a safe and timely manner and to a high quality standard.
  • Carry out electrical periodic inspection and test and potentially servicing and maintenance work without immediate supervision in a safe, efficient and economical manner in accordance with the current edition of BS: 7671, Construction Industry Safety Regulations, and Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Adhere to the Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002 as amended so far as they deal with Consumers' Installations and with any Regulations dealing with Consumers' Installations which may be issued, relevant British Standards and Codes of Practice.
  • Liaise with Clients, sub-contractors and suppliers as required.
  • Set out jobs from drawings and specifications, establish the requirements of a project, ensure compliance and test systems; Solve problems within the scope of the project.
  • Commission and test Electrical systems and equipment, issue relevant certification as required; Support Technician/Project Manager in conducting demonstrations on new equipment and plant to stakeholders to confirm that work order outcomes are in line with agreed customer requirements prior to handover.
  • Accept responsibility for the proper completion of jobs and, if required, supervise other operatives in accordance with Company Procedures and Safety Regulations.

Experience and Qualifications needed -

  • experience in covering the full range of commercial and industrial installation work on-site.
  • achieved qualifications through apprenticeship or equivalent training, qualifications and experience in electrical installation.
  • City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or 2351 or 2330 levels 2 and 3 or approved equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or approved equivalent).
  • Achievement Measurement 2 (AM2).
  • City and Guilds 2391 inspection and testing and 2382 BS7671 18th Edition certificates
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
