My renewable energy client is urgently seeking a Cable Systems Engineer / Cable Design Engineer for a remote working role with occasional travel to their offices in Glasgow. Suitable candidates should be knowledgeable in ratings calculations, earthing considerations and Electrical calculations rather than burial tool assessments.
Responsibilities:
- Technical input in support of Offshore Export cable selection and refinement
- Co-ordination of cable route survey scopes and assessment of cable burial risk / opportunities across proposed routes
- Development of Inter-Array cable layouts and optimisation
- Provide definition of cable installation methodologies in support of project consenting inputs
- Assessment of cable rating constraints along both onshore and offshore Export Cable corridors
- Development of execution strategy for both Export and Inter-Array cables and development of project programme
- Support in engagement with supply chain, ensuring project strategy aligns with market expectations
You should demonstrate:
- FEED stage into design, ideally in HVDC.
- Electrically design biased rather than installation manger experience.
- Candidate will need to be knowledgeable in ratings calculations, earthing considerations and Electrical calculations rather than burial tool assessments.
