Carbon 60 is looking to recruit an experienced HSEQ Advisor for its leading demolition client based in Lerwick, Shetland

Work pattern is 3 weeks on 1 week off ongoing with an immediate start

Working hours are 8.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday

Pay rate is up to £400 per day PAYE DOE

All travel to be paid along with £30 per day expenses

You will need

  • Minimum qualification is NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational H&S, ideally linked to construction within the oil and gas industry.

  • Experience of waste and clean water activities, boiler houses and energy centres, total waste management, construction and demolition

Your role

  • To actively support our client on Risk and Assurance matters by conducting regular site visits, assuring the client that the right standards are in place and monitoring risk assessments along with client requirements.
  • To engage with operational teams and identify further improvements and provide solutions
  • To work closely with the HSEQ Manager and Senior Advisor, to support operations and support and liaise with the external stakeholders, regulators and customers
  • Monitor the performance of your sites in order to identify where additional support or actions are required.
  • Organise and support 7 day reviews following close calls, incidents and accidents where required and liaise with the operational teams to ensure a full investigation has been completed
  • Support R&A Team
  • Where you identify any serious issues appropriate action must be taken
  • Attend sites as per the Assurance Planner and business line risk profile to engage with operational teams and to observe the day to day activities.
  • Ensure that all improvement projects are implemented at site level
  • Track progress and visits against the VMR to assure the site meets the requirements.
  • Support the site carrying out event investigations to identify root cause and, depending on severity, escalate
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Support Bid's and business growth opportunities
  • Promote good practice across the team and recommend improvements to the standards
  • Actively involved for certain improvement projects, which could include secondment and working groups across the wider R&A team
