Duration: Long-term project

Working Arrangement: Fully site-based

Security Clearance: SC required

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced EM09 Planner to join a long-term infrastructure project in Somerset. This role is fully site-based and requires Security Clearance (SC). The successful candidate will play a key role in planning and scheduling project activities, ensuring that work is delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project programmes in line with contract requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, updating schedules accordingly and identifying potential risks or delays.
  • Communicate critical path deviations and provide recommendations for corrective action.
  • Integrate emergent works effectively into existing programmes without disrupting project timelines.
  • Produce and present progress reports to stakeholders, detailing key milestones, risks, and any necessary adjustments.
  • Allocate estimated costs to programme activities and support project baselining.
  • Analyse Earned Value Performance (EVP) to assess project efficiency and resource allocation.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other key stakeholders to ensure the programme remains aligned with project objectives.

Experience & Qualifications

  • HNC/Degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Construction, or Project Management.
  • QCF Diploma Level 3/5 in Planning.
  • APMP Practitioner certification is desirable.
  • Experience working on large-scale infrastructure, construction, or engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of planning software and scheduling tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
