My client, a leading construction company in Athens, Greece, is currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager, with a civil engineering background, to join their team on a staff/perm role. The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor's degree, have demonstrable experience in reinforced concrete works and a proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from inception to completion. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to a dynamic team and make a significant impact on the company's ongoing and future projects.

Your day to day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Lead and manage the overall construction operations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Plan and schedule project time lines, resources, and milestones
  • Supervise and coordinate with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations
  • Monitor and report on project progress, costs, and quality
  • Resolve any technical and operational issues that may arise during construction
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts
  • Oversee and prepare together with construction team work methodologies and procedures
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance construction efficiency and quality
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and authorities to ensure smooth project execution

Candidates wishing to register their interest in this role should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field
  • 15+ years of experience in civil construction, particularly in heavy industrial projects (e.g. - power plants, oil & gas, mines, etc.)
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering large-scale civil construction projects
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment (with a focus on Reinforced Concrete structures)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in using construction management software and tools
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry
  • Excellent command of English language
  • Permit to work in Greece or those candidates with legal rights to work in the EU
