Senior Cyber Security Specialist

Interested in working as a Cyber Security Specialist for an Aerospace and Defence Company, this may be the role for you!

Cyber Security Innovation & Research team is looking for a technical (senior) Cyber Security Research Engineer to join the team on a contractual basis and to support the ongoing initiatives designing and developing state of the art security solutions and providing expert services across IT & ICS security domains. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an innovation environment and/or is able to work on challenging cyber security problems with proven record of delivering research and developing of prototypes. Deep technical knowledge and expertise in a relevant cyber security domain is a must.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead state of the art research projects into cyber security topics of interest in support of the business
  • Senior technical specialist in one or more areas of cyber security; including but not limited to:
  1. Security Architecture
  2. Cyber Forensics & Incident Response
  3. Industrial Control System Cyber Security
  4. Penetration Testing & Audit
  5. Cloud security
  6. Cryptography
  7. Security Monitoring / SOC
  • Develop prototype solutions
  • Support industrialization of solutions
  • Provide expert services (senior consultancy) to the internal business as required
  • Undertake technical scouting missions (product evaluations and benchmarking)
  • Develop and present new innovation concepts
  • Advise on evolving and emerging threats & risks
  • Publish academic articles & technical reports

Person Specification

  • 5+ years cyber security experience in relevant cyber security specialist area
  • Degree, Professional Training or equivalent experience in relevant cyber security related subject
  • Experience of research, innovation, and/or solutions development
  • Proven track record of managing and delivering cyber security programs
  • Proven track record of bid/proposal writing

Additional Info

These roles will involve developing own internal Cyber Security. We are looking for someone with current hands on technical experience. Ideally having worked in a research environment. A strong problem solver/solution developer, able to present those solutions back to the business

Rate: £400- £500 per day depending on experience
