The company is a UK leading organisation specialising in major mechanical and electrical installations within the food process industry. The huge range of work carried out by the company includes process pipework and plant installation along with planned and preventative maintenance. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Project Manager /Site Manager to join the company supporting maintenance works in East Anglia and the East Midlands from their project offices on site at British Sugar in Bury St. Edmunds.

Duties

As a suitably experienced and qualified Mechanical Project Manager / Site Manager you will be working on site at the sugar beet processing plant in Bury St. Edmunds. Primary responsibilities will be; estimating effective projects-based works and calculating material requirements, managing teams of engineers and fabricator/welders to deliver projects on time and within budget, specifying and purchasing materials and ensuring all works are completed in line with the companies Health and Safety procedures. Other responsibilities will include preparing documentation for project sign off and analysing data capture to ensure compliance with customer KPI's.

About You

Based ideally in Bury St. Edmunds you will need to live within a commutable distance of IP32 7BB.

Demonstrable experience of managing mechanical projects within the food and beverage industry with an excellent working knowledge of fabricating, welding, process pipework, structural metalwork and the associated plant and equipment.

Completion of a minimum City and Guilds in a Pipefitting, Welding or Engineering qualification or a time served trade apprenticeship.

Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel packages.
