Mechanical Assembler Fitter
Birmingham, B24 9PJ
Contract Position: Mon - Fri 6.00am - 4.30pm
The company is a UK leading organisation specialising in major mechanical and electrical engineering installations within the food processing industry. The huge range of work carried out by the company includes process pipework and plant installations, planned and preventive maintenance, environmental services, fire and security installations and many other engineering services associated with the food and beverage industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a mechanical assembler fitter to join the mechanical engineering division, supporting a major project in Birmingham.
As a suitably experienced mechanical assembler fitter you will be working within a clean well-maintained workshop assembling a range of mechanical components which will form part of a larger installation. Primary responsibilities will include bolting small hand-held actuators to metal plates, inserting small pneumatic rams into lifting frames and fixing control arms to metal box section.
Other duties will include assisting colleagues where necessary and ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with the workshop health and safety policy. Full training on how to assemble the various components will be given, but you need to have previous assembling /fitting experience.
Based ideally in the Birmingham area you will need to live within a short commutable distance of B24 9PJ.
You will have knowledge of assembling and fitting mechanical parts from drawings and sub-assemblies with demonstrable experience of using hand and power tools within a manufacturing environment.
In return for your experience, you will receive a salary between £10.50 and £12.50 per hour as well as a range of other benefits.
