Contract Surveyor

Harrow, London

A contract surveyor is required to work with a prestigious housebuilder with developments throughout London and the Home Counties

Role and Responsibilities

Manage the subcontract procurement to a programme ensuring timely placed orders. Identify risks, gains, areas of design input or potential value engineering. Establish and monitor subcontract resources.

Timely reporting including material and cost forecasts.

Manage subcontract orders and processes

Administer Subcontractors accounts, in accordance with the subcontracts, including valuing, re-measuring and certifying timely payments.

Produce sub-contractor buying analyses together with detailed back-up information identifying the package summary for approval by the Senior Surveyor.

Attend and actively partake in Design meetings, Client and Team meetings.

Agreement of contract variations, communication of their outcome, implications and the preparation of forecast final accounts.

Maintain effective cash management plans

Management of the contract surveyor schedule, review and evaluation of specification costs and alternatives. Work towards closing out an accurate value engineered finishes specification delivered within the works on site.

Providing cost information to support surveying team, sales and marketing costs and customer preferences.

Cost reporting

Support to the other contract surveyors and trainee surveyors.

Experience

The successful contract surveyor shall be either degree qualified or hold a similar relevant qualification, such as HNC and MCIOB.

The surveyor will have a strong commercial background, which has been predominantly gained from time spent working with a reputable contractor or residential developer.
