Design Executive A design assistant is required to work with one of the nations leading housing developers in their Surrey office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a hugely successful organisation, who offer the chance to work on a number of new developments in the area. The design assistant will be integral in helping the technical and design team to prepare and submit planning applications on a range of projects throughout Surrey and Sussex.

Roles and ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation and submission of designs and planning applicationsAttend key meetings with other members of the technical, design and planning departmentsAssist in running design meetings and contribute improvements where appropriate. Help manage fees and budgets through the entire design processPrepare, submit and secure building regulation approvalsUnderstand and manage environmental and ecological constraints that are relevant to residential developmentsPrepare all working drawing requirements for tendering purposes to assist the commercial teamOversee structural drawings provided by approved consultantsReview and improve technical literature to approved standardsUndertake detailed assessment and approval of all supporting suppliers and manufacturers information, including renewable energy requirementsMeet with Housing Associations and report on any planning, contractual requirements or feedback that is required.

Skills and ExperienceRelevant design or planning qualification or similarFull Technical understanding and knowledge of regulatory constraintsUnderstanding of the planning process.Detailed experience of building regulationsExcellent project and time management skillsPreferably prior experience in the residential or housebuilding sector, ideally with another housebuilder
