Project Construction Leader
Location: Building & Construction Team PortsmouthThe RoleAs a Senior Project Engineer you will be responsible for delivering an array of projects at the Airbus Plant in Portsmouth as part of the Buildings and Construction Team based on site. Working closely with the design teams, procurement and the appointed contractors your responsibility is to ensure that all projects produce the required standard of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost and meets all regulatory and code of practice deliverables. We are looking for a confident, polished professional who will be able to take the lead the multifunctional team to meet the customer requirements at the same time liaising with all Facility Management and Real Estate functions to ensure handover is completed and information is shared and communicatedSpecific Responsibilities · Liaise with the project team members to ensure compliance to SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People) Target Conditions· Plan and monitor the project status by liaising with the Project Team to assure the overall direction and integrity of the projects· Manage the risks, including the development of mitigation plans · Takes responsibilities for overall progress of projects and use the necessary resources and initiates corrective actions where necessary· Ensure that the internal Facilities Management & Real Estate MFT is in place with regular reviews (Weekly / Monthly)· Be responsible for change / variation process control and liaise with QS and team members to ensure compliance to the approved budget · Agree technical and quality strategy with appropriate members of the Project · Prepare any Follow-on Action Recommendations required · Identify and obtain any support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the project · Supplier management and control is the backbone to success in managing projects, clear communication both written and verbal· Advise the Head of Business of any deviations from plan and recommend corrective action and help prepare any appropriate Exception Plans · Ensure all Project Issues are properly reported via escalations to the Head of Business and reported back through the SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People) start of shift· Ensure that evaluation of Project Issues that arise within your project with recommended action· Ensure that quality controls of the teams work are planned and performed correctly · Maintain and ensure the maintenance of team files or folders · Identify and advice the Head of Business of any risks associated with Projects · Ensure that all identified risks are entered on the Risk Register and Managed· Prepare the End Project Report via customer feedback and supplier performance· Undertake a Lessons Learnt with the team when the project fails to meet the agreed standards or target conditionsExperience and Qualifications· Degree Level qualification in Civil of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering· Proven ability to deliver results under pressure· Proven experience with a project delivery position and construction knowledge· Excellent communication and IT skills· Proactive and tenacious in character· Experience working in Clean Rooms Design and Delivery would be advantageous· Strong communication skills· Experience of managing large complex projects in a production environment
