Software EngineerOur client is a leading developer of software solutions into the defence sector and they are looking to recruit a talented graduate/junior Software Engineer to join their growing team. You will be working on state of the art systems for processing imagery, video, sensor, and intelligence data. If you have a strong understanding of software engineering principles, real-world development experience, and a flair for innovation, then this could be the role for you.Main ResponsibilitiesYou will get to work on a much wider variety of projects than you would in a fixed team at a big company. Youll be embedded in our team of highly-skilled computer scientists, mathematicians and developers, and will be given high levels of responsibility from a very early stage. Your work could involve architecting a multi-sensor processing system or helping to build scalable systems for analysing video content. All our employees are constantly learning about new technologies and state-of-the-art algorithms, and have creative freedom in planning and executing their work. We tailor our roles to each individual ensuring that their skills are put to best use and to ensure continued professional development.As well as the technical depth and variety you will experience, you will have the chance to work on systems and technologies that can have a genuine impact on security and society.Required ExperienceA Computer Science Degree (minimum 2:1) is essential, and should be combined with a positive attitude and the ability to self-start. The role is open to graduates as well as those with some commercial experience. Whilst experience in our specific technical areas is beneficial, we are more focussed on talking to candidates who have a solid understanding of software engineering principles and good practice, and a desire to learn and develop their capabilities.Technical AbilitiesThese roles require an excellent academic background and extremely strong coding skills are vital, with Python, C++ or C# being beneficial.
