Our Marlow, Buckinghamshire based client is one of the world's leading companies engaged in the development, delivery and support of leading-edge aerospace and defence systems in the air, on land and at sea. The Antennas division is looking for a Product Manager / Product Line Manager to look after aerospace and defence products (no direct reports). This is a new role as they grow the Product Line Management team and is an opportunity for someone to move into a Senior PLM / Director position in 12-18 months - supporting business cases and strategy, competitive land scape , value proportion, launching the right productsResponsibilities:· to review and assess the product portfolio through detailed product lifecycle analysis and market segmentation activities. Key Products within the portfolio need to be assessed and appropriate strategies developed to maximize the lifetime revenues and margins generated from the portfolio· extends from managing ageing products in the portfolio; managing obsolescence, to drive transition and upgrades; to assessing market and customer requirements to drive the Product and Technology roadmap for the development of new products. The Product Manager must take ownership to develop and drive business cases and campaigns which deliver growth in the target product capability areas· bridging the gap between Engineering and Sales balancing external facing items such as customer and market requirements, competitive analysis, and technology trends with an internal focus on sustaining engineering, profitability, product development & support, and PV roadmaps· driving the growth for the Product Lines through targeted New Product introductions (NPI) and Upgrade plans· take accountability and drive internal business strategy development and strategic planning process as it relates to assigned products in the portfolio; including market analysis, product and technology roadmaps, and other marketing tasks · develop product requirements for current and future product developments through close coordination with sales, key customers, and industry eventsExperience/competencies:· You will be from aerospace, defence, telecoms or electronics industries and have been involved in product management for at least 3 years· MBA or MCIM - Masters in Marketing or qualified by experience in product managementAs a global leader delivering mission-critical technology, our client trusts their employees to draw on ingenuity and passion, leading to an empowering culture.
