Project ManagerKey Responsibilities:· Reporting to the Technical Director.· Manage multiple (3 or 2) projects at an appropriate level of detail - ensuring that Project Leads support as required.· Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects in line with the company stage & gate product lifecycle process.· Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.· Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.· Ensure resource identification, availability and allocation.· Identify critical path activities and dependent resources. Ensure resources & their supervision understand the criticality and implications of deviating from the plan. · Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress. Ensure this is communicated appropriately.· Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques. Table thought-through alternative scenarios to provide Senior Management with feasible avoidance or recovery options.· Measure and report project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.· Perform risk management to minimise project risks.· Report and escalate to Technical Director/Senior Leadership Team as necessary.· Establish and maintain relationships with third parties including strategic technology partners.· Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.· Be a key influencer for continued culture change within R&D and the wider business.Requirements:· Degree level or equivalent technical qualification plus experience, preferably in the fields of computer science or engineering.· Proven working experience of project management of commercial electronic/electro-mechanical products.· Direct experience of offshore outsourcing design work (principally software).· Solid technical appreciation of the core product development disciplines including mechanical, electronic and software development.· PMI / PRINCE2 qualified or experienced Critical Chain practitioner.· Able to balance the desire for project rigor with an agile approach with changeable conditions.· Able to win hearts and minds in order to pull the team together and resolve technical conflicts satisfactorily and expediently. · Solid personal organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking.· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
