Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of satellite systems. Their activities cover complete civil and military telecommunications and Earth observation systems, science and navigation programmes, together with avionics and a wide range of space equipment and associated ground infrastructure.They are recruiting for a Network Architect for a Contract position to be based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire initially for a period of 6 months.Job SummaryA key role in the Information Management (IM) Team. IM is the Information Technology (IT) business enabler and unique IM Business Partner for Airbus Defence and Space.The successful applicant will join the team in charge of Network Architecture for all Airbus Defence and Space infrastructure international projects.Job ProfileThe Network Architect - International Projects will support and contribute to the implementation of proven network standards and innovative technologies within Network Services in Airbus Defence and Space international environment. They will communicate with expert teams of the core countries in France, Germany, Spain and UK, preparing for the future by looking for innovative solutions and market best practices.They will also be responsible for coaching and training a Trainee Network Architect colleague - by designing then delivering a training plan - in terms of architectural design and related skills as agreed with the department head. Within that both roles will be responsible for anticipating Airbus Defence and Space connectivity needs and establishing strategic orientation and roadmap in the area to enable future enterprise developments.They will work closely with the Business, Service Managers, project/program managers and other IT teams to act as point of contact for the end user community regarding several Network Architectures. The Senior Architect will be in charge of leading project architecture design and aligning infrastructure solutions with standards alongside validating, challenging and providing detailed designs (down to mock-up if required).Creative thinking will be required to propose innovative ways to look at problems, improve the overall architectures in use, direct the resolution of all architecture challenges, manage and maintain Network standards, and coordinate all providers involved while ensuring stable operations.Skills/Experience Required Experienced in Network Infrastructure design and project management. Deep knowledge in IT Security principles and policies. Deep knowledge in Networks (Routing / Switching / Wireless / Proxy / DDI and Security (Firewalling, NAC 802.1x, VPN) Experience in Software Define Networking and Digital infrastructure capabilities. Project Management certification will be a plus. Assertiveness and ability to challenge business requirements. Excellent team-player with good communication and presentation skills in international perimeter. Open for a dynamic environment and agile methodologies. Good MS-Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, VISIO). Advanced level of English. Willingness to travel.Education & Training Bachelor degree in IT/Computer science or related field. 3-5 years of relevant quantitative and qualitative research and analytics experience.Other· There will be occasional and ad hoc travel in the UK and Europe· Current SC clearance is preferred but SC clearable candidates will be consideredIf you have the skills and experience to be considered for this role, please apply on-line.
