Surface Treatment Technician (Mechancial)
Our client is an international pioneer in the aerospace industry. They are a leader in designing, manufacturing and delivering aerospace products, services and solutions to customers on a global scale.
Specific Job Profile
Chemical cleaning using various methods (Cloth / Immersion)
Vac blasting using specified pressure and media grade
Abrasive (Grit) blasting using specified pressure and media grade to produce a surface for either bonding or friction surface
Aluminium etching of various components for bonding preparation
Corrosion protection treatment for various aluminium parts
Detailed masking to tight tolerance
Primer application to achieve specified film thickness
Paint application to achieve specified film thickness
Ability to work from detailed drawings and electronic work instructions - within specific procedures
Knowledge of satellite structure assemblies or similar
Experience working to procedures with checkpoints/quality gates
Previous experience in other industries such as mechanical fitter, time served mechanical technician
Experience in industries such as Space/Aerospace/Automotive/Motorsport etc.
Ability to work in confined spaces above floor level
Clean room experience
There will be a skills test at interview
Weekly rotating double day shifts -
06:00hrs to 14:00 hrs
14:00 hrs to 22:00 hrs
Some weekend working Saturday or Sunday may be required at peak times.
