An excellent opportunity has arisen working for a prestigious manufacturing Organisation based in Leicestershire.

This is a contract position, for a minimum of 6 months, with a good chance of extension. You will be joining at a time when projects and programs are at a critical phase, and will be expected to be able to hit the ground running with the below requirements and responsibilities.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):

The Project Manager will report to the Project Leader and is responsible for projects execution within the Subsea or Industrial part of the business.

In addition to the general responsibilities below, we are looking for someone who can cover these 3 main aspects:

  1. Significant experience in external client facing project management - the candidate will interface regularly with customers working on large infrastructure programs so needs to have experience in dealing with external clients
  2. Working knowledge of Primavera and/or Microsoft Project Online
  3. A strong sense of urgency - we are really looking for a candidate who will be a change agent in the organisation who has a can-do attitude and will autonomously find solutions to problems.

The Responsibilities of this position will include:

 Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget

 Developing detailed project scopes, objectives and schedules, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

 Develop and implement detailed project plans and rigor to track progress

 Perform risk management to minimize project risks

 Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects

 Manage the project - which includes coordinating the project team to keep them on track and keeping the project on budget

 Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs

 Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques

 Report and escalate to management as needed

 Manage the relationship with the customer and all stakeholders

 Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

 Close the project, including evaluating successes and challenges to enhance learning for the next project

 Drive continuous improvement through a proper and rigorous planning process and schedule technique (resource levelling)

 Store and use the 'as-executed' project data to drive continuous improvement

 Lead best practice, lessons learned and Best in Class performance practice sharing


 Project management qualification (PMP) or equivalent

 Deep knowledge of fundamental project management processes, methodologies, tools & techniques and proven ability to adapt them to organizations

 Proven experience and ability to manage teams/projects and bring them to success. Ability to manage interactions between the customer, the project team and the internal stakeholders

 Minimum of 5-year experience in Project Management

 Ability to earn trust and respect from project's stakeholders. Ability to influence decisions that need to be made to make the project successful

 Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

 Entrepreneurial mind-set, change agent aptitude

 Excellent facilitation, presentation, verbal & written communication skills


 Dynamic, flexible team player with demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams

 Ability to energize teams and view change as an opportunity

 Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and process skills

 Ability to influence, negotiate, and communicate at all levels within an organization and across organizations

 Working knowledge of statistical and probabilistic modeling, advanced spreadsheet and database expertise

 Proficient computer skills including and data mining

 Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse and highly matrixes environments

 Willing to travel
