The program planner role provides program/project planning and scheduling services during the development and execution phases of projects and programs. Performs these services as a member of a project/program team,.
- During the later stages of the project/program, supports the Project Management Team in developing the execution plan for the scope of work * Is instrumental in defining and scheduling key milestones and integration of all product lines * Verifies the ability to execute the scope of work by analyzing resources (human and quantity) requirements and ensures equipment, materials, engineering and R and D services are capable of meeting the schedule * Supports the development of the work breakdown structure as required by the contract * During the execution phase of the work, prepares and maintains several levels of increasing detail, time-phased Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules * Resolves logic and schedule related conflicts through close interaction with participating functions/owners * Obtains commitments to the plan from all associated stakeholders * Provides status updates to schedules, verifies accuracy of work completed and analyzes progress, schedule performance and variances from the plan * Obtains and/or recommends corrective actions for mitigating deviations from the plan * Works closely with the entire Project Management Team to identify and resolve schedule deviations and trends * Provides inputs to, and participates in the Risk Management Program * Prepares and maintains schedule metrics * Prepares the schedule analysis for inclusion into the weekly project progress report
- Minimum of 2 years scheduling experience * Minimum of 2 years planning experience in related industry * Requires strong planning, organizational, oral and written communication, and analytical and interpersonal skills * Must also have strong personal computer skills and ability to read, interpret and understand technical drawings and documents * A solid understanding of planning and scheduling concepts with hands on experience in the use of MSP scheduling software * Candidate must be a high energy individual with some prior planning and scheduling experience in an engineering manufacturing environment * Additional prior related experience in other project controls/management areas (cost engineering, logistics, contracts, etc.) is a plus
- Self-starter with high initiative * Prior experience in engineering, procurement, and/or manufacturing preferred * Additional prior related experience in another project management discipline (cost, planning, estimating) is desired. * Possesses an engineering or technical background in a closely related field * Strong computer skills (Microsoft Project, Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel)
