UNIX Infrastructure EngineerDuration: 6 MonthsLocation: BracknellI am looking for a UNIX Infrastructure Engineer to join a highly respected organisation to work as part of a team to assure and deliver AIX & Linux technologies for a range of projects and BAU operations, based in Bracknell. The successful candidate will lead complex solution delivery for IT projects, working with in-house development teams and/or third parties to design, develop and implement infrastructure solutions. They lead their own group of technologies and support architects in delivering the strategic roadmap for their technology area. Key Competencies:? IBM POWER7 and IBM POWER8? PowerVM, HMC, NIM, VIO? IBM AIX 6.1 to current? SUSE 9,10,11 and RedHat 6 & 7? VMware Virtualisation Products, including VCentre, vRealize Automation? Knowledge of supporting and installation of Linux on VMware environments? Using and maintaining YUM repositories? SAN environments - Understanding (IBM, EMC, PURE and using mulitpath drivers)? Scripting (e.g. bash, ksh)? Working knowledge of TSM, Avamar or similar technologies for backup and recovery is preferred? Cloud infrastructures and the concept of Software Defined Data Centre.? ITIL Qualification ? Experience supporting infrastructure hosting enterprise java applications and databases (DB2 & Oracle)? Experience of supporting the following applications:? IBM Websphere Application Server? IBM Websphere Commerce Server? Apache Web Server? Experience of automation and orchestration toolsets e.g.: -? Puppet? Ansible & Ansible Tower? Red Hat Satellite? PowerVC, LPMToolkit? 3rd line support, production and development environments ? BAU maintenance ? Application project support ? Design and build ? Develop and document standards, processes and procedures? Understanding of server performance tuning and optimization? Train, mentor and support team members?
