Key Accountabilities: Develop and maintain the solution architecture and technology roadmap for customer order management and related technologies for John Lewis Research, evaluate and advise on emerging technologies, identifying cost effective ways to achieve business strategy Outline high level technical solution options during project shaping, determining how new projects and technologies will fit within existing architectures, identifying any technical risks and ensuring no overlapping functionality/capability Responsible for high level solution design, in line with the business strategy, the enterprise architecture and the technology roadmap; ensuring architectural best practice and legal requirements are adhered to Oversee the delivery of solutions, providing architectural assurance throughout the project lifecycle Support Partnership IT teams in detailed design and specification for technology solutions, Ensure project design deliverables confirm to architectural principles as defined by the Partnership strategy & Architecture team - Participate in project governance for solution approval and design and quality assurance Provide technology expertise, including and an understanding of industry technology best practice to solution scoping and selection Work as part of an architect team (Enterprise, Solution- Data and Integration, Solution - Tech Infra, Solution - Info Sec) to design holistic solutions which are scalable and adaptable to changing business needs Identifying technical risks and identifying mitigating actions. Define best practice tools and technologies, working with the Methods and Tools team. Responsible for identifying and recommending common technologies, frameworks and approaches for use by development teams on projects, including the identification of specific technologies to be used Identify benefits and costs of solutions and develop compelling business cases Manage solution procurement and ongoing relationships with 3rd party suppliers to ensure the Partnership is on the best possible commercial terms Adapt to changing needs for solution architecture as agile working gets adopted, including collaborating with teams ensure architectural integrity and consistency across different agile streams as well as adopting new tools and approaches. Key Capabilities/Experience: Solution architecture in customer ordering context Experience of order management systems Experience of broader eCommerce solution landscape including: Inventory visibility Payment Omni channel fulfilment Fraud screening Contact centre Financial posting BI/Analytics Experience of IBM Sterling Order Management would be advantageous
