Electrical ,Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer -Bedhampton ,Portsmouth - 3-6mth contract.£Competitive.Our client has an opening for an Electrical, Electromechanical Manufacturing Engineer. This position is responsible for supporting plant leadership in achieving business and financial goals by developing and maintaining robust manufacturing and quality processes and leading continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. Furthermore, to ensure that any issues relating to product manufacture, and returns investigation, are resolved in a methodical & responsive manner. Additional responsibility includes executing the organizations strategic plan consistent with regulations,established industry standards, and customer requirements. An existing knowledge and experience of Electrical testing is highly desirable.The role will require liaison with external parties such as customers and suppliers, thus travel within and beyond the UK travel may be expected. The role will also require permitted access to ITAR sensitive data.Critical for success in this role is the ability to: Act as liaison between the Manufacturing Cell and other groups (including Aftermarket Product Support , Customer Services, Engineering, Customers and Suppliers), for Manufacturing and Quality Engineering issues throughout the product lifecycle; Participate in New Product Introduction projects, utilize Advanced Product Quality Planning and other tools to ensure internal and external product and process requirements are met; Develop and maintain robust, cost efficient manufacturing processes consistent with Lean Manufacturing methodologies; Utilize Six Sigma and other statistical methodologies to evaluate and reduce product, people and process variation; Measure, monitor and analyses customer and productivity metrics, participate in and lead teams to continuously improve performance. Report data and improvement plans to the Leadership and customers; Strong technical problem solving skills to solve technical product / process and business process problems utilizing structured approaches such as 8D, Six Sigma etc; Execute the development, implementation and improvement of Quality, Environment, Health and Safety Management Systems, throughout the Manufacturing Cell; Participate in and lead audits of products and processes against Quality and EHS Management System requirements; Contribute to the design and delivery of training relating to products, production processes, and to processes as they relate to Quality and EHS Management Systems; Participate in the specification, procurement and validation of capital equipment, test rigs, tooling, gauging, and measurement equipment etc. Responsible for implementation of standard and product specific tools developing sufficient control methods to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. QualificationsThe successful candidate will: Be educated to degree level, preferably in an Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering discipline/ within a manufacturing engineering role or minimum 3 years relevant industry experience Have some knowledge of hydraulics or pneumatics; Possess a thorough understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning techniques - i.e. pFMEA, Critical to Quality Characteristics, Control Plans etc; Have detailed knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques - i.e. value stream mapping, one piece flow, etc; Have detailed knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and tools as they relate to minimizing process / product variation i.e. regression analysis, design of experiments, hypothesis testing, etc;
