Network Design EngineerCompany: AirbusDuration: 6 Month Contract (HIGH LIKELYHOOD of extension)Hours: Full time (8:00am-5:00pm- ALWAYS opportunities to do overtime) Location: NewportRate: Up to £325 per day

I am looking for an experienced Network Design Engineer to come on board a globally-recognised European multinational aerospace corporation, and ensure that communication performance, recovery, and security needs meet agreed service agreement standards. You will need to contribute to define network design policies, philosophies and criteria. You must Investigate, diagnose and solve network problems, and be able to use network management system tools to determine network load and model performance statistics. You will be responsible for maintain awareness of relevant legislation affecting network security. You will also need to be able to remove or installs components under guidance and in accordance with detailed instructions, and act systematically to build or deconstruct system elements. You will have to identify failing components and establishes root cause failures, as well as provide support to less experienced colleagues.

Essential Requirements: Educated to HNC level or equivalent experienceHold a current Cisco CCNADetailed familiarity of site preparation and construction including: rack installation, electrical wiring & loading, wall penetrations, safety practices, etc.Knowledge of interior & exterior fibre optic and copper cable wiring, including single-mode, multimode and hybrid fibre optic cable, shielded and unshielded Category 5e cable, and termination and testing of new and legacy systemsKnowledge of Health & Safety of Electrical InstallationsCurrently hold Ministry of Defence Security Clearance to SC level or aboveHands on recent experience of rolling out switches and routers to MoD sitesSupporting certifications a bonus
