An excellent opportunity has arisen working for a prestigious Engineering Company based near Southampton, Hampshire. This is a contract opportunity for up to 4 months - there will be an opportunity for the successful applicant to apply for this position on a permanent basis. The requirement is for a Management Accountant to join the finance team.
The requirement is for a newly/part qualified CIMA accountant to look after all elements of management accounting and transaction processing for this growing company. Responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis.
Responsible for general accounting and policy application for all cycles including inventory, revenue recognition, receivables/payables, intercompany, etc. Understand and interpret applicable Enterprise Standards, Standard Operating Procedures and Process Maps to deliver globally competitive accounting services.
Key elements of the role include:
Base cost (facility and employee costs) and development project accounting, reporting and analysis for project managers, the site management team.
Preparing forecasts, plans and budgets for the site and development projects with the project managers and site management team.
Balance sheet control, maintenance and reconciliations including accounts payable and receivable ledgers, banking, fixed assets, and the general ledger.
Preparation of information for internal and external audits, taxation (VAT & Corporation Tax), R&D tax credit claims, regulatory submissions and subsidies/grants claims.
Managing and coaching the bookkeeper/administrator and covering for them and the chief financial officer.
This role will give the opportunity to get hands on experience with a system implementation in the next year.

5 GCSE's including Maths and English GCSE all at level C or above.
Accounts Graduate or AAT (Accountancy Technicians) qualified, part/newly qualified CIMA, CGMA, demonstrating exam pass success.
Experience of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint.
Experience on any of Sage 50 accounts, Microsoft Dynamics, or Axapta would be helpful.
