6 Month contract

The purpose of this role is to support the development and delivery of category and sourcing strategies, as well as support effective supply chain management and engagement, on behalf of the Business.

The delivery of category strategies, sourcing and contract management projects will comply with the relevant policies, processes, systems and templates.

Cost control will be realised through sourcing, contract management and supplier relationship management for a portfolio of categories.

The Category Manager will also

· Implement category strategies and cost reduction plans

· Identify opportunities to increase compliance with supplier contracts that are negotiated centrally for the Corporate Services business areas

· Effectively implement a defined and agreed work plan

· Review and update contracts, include service level agreements and key performance indicators for approval

· Monitor and evaluate supplier performance. Prepare periodic reports and dashboards for products and services that are covered by category strategies.

· Promote open competition within the supply chain in line with the Procurement Policy.

List and briefly explain up to six principle accountabilities of the role.

1. Implement optimal sourcing solutions for assigned categories using demand forecasting and market capacity profiling as directed by the Senior Category Manager or Procurement Business Partner. Conduct sourcing activities which align with the business and category strategies as well as the subsequent management of them in terms of contract variations, contract performance and contract innovation/enhancements.

2. Support the development of overarching category contracting strategies. Provide the analysis that helps the businesses plan their procurement requirements and to set their budgets.

3. Implement the contract management process to realise maximum benefit from the sourcing activity with reviews of business usage and compliance of contract. Help the designated businesses to understand their spend profiles, supplier profiles and compliance to agreements.

4. Manage the delivery of financial and non-financial value improvements through the management of the supply chain.

5. Annual and on-going review of supplier contract terms and deliverables to ensure they support the objectives and strategies across designated business areas.

6. Review and report on supplier contract metrics, incentives and KPI's that are aligned to the commercial and operating requirements of designated business areas.

7. Develop unit cost benchmark data and demonstrate value for money a directed by the Senior Category Manager or Procurement Business Partner.
