Carbon60 are currently recruiting for an experienced Sustaining Engineer (mechanical) for an initial 3-month contract to work with a leading medical device company based in Chichester. The focus of this position is to be responsible for sustaining all manufacturing activities across the plant, this includes maintaining production and preventing and back order situations.
This engineering role will provide in-depth technical input and support for new and existing product lines, enhancements and NPI.
This business produces a wide variety of respiratory devices and compressors to generate and deliver aerosol from a variety of products, due the nature of these devices experience working in a highly regulated environment is essential.
Further Responsibilities Include:
- Identifying opportunities to improve cost, quality and productivity.
- Keep the company up to date with manufacturing technologies.
- Conduct feasibility studies and present recommendations on new technologies.
- Ensure all manufacturing process and equipment are in accordance with national and international technical standards.
- At times, be assigned as Project Manager within the plant on specific projects.
Experience of planning and project management within large scale manufacturing facilities.
Excellent leadership experience in terms of NPI projects within a regulated environment.
Good problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of national and international manufacturing standards.
Good working knowledge within the medical device or similar sector.
Minimum 5 years in manufacturing engineering.
