Carbon60 are currently looking for a control system engineer for a unique company based just outside of Portsmouth, this company are leading the way in new technologies for the oil and gas industry and have been continuously growing year on year with no signs of slowing down.
Due to the expansion of the company they are currently looking for a control systems engineer to be dedicated to there manufacturing division still working closely with the other departments to ensure that the plant is running efficiently, this will focus on the design and implemention of control systems improvements.
Duties will include working on motion control equipment as well as drives, safety systems, monitoring systems using PLC and SCADA based systems predominately using the Siemens system.
At times this position will have the requirement to work alongside the maintenance teams to assist in identifying any issues and develop key maintenance plans and procedure where necessary.
Some project work will also be required designing and developing the user interface of equipment using HMI's and robot controllers.
Skills and Requirements
Programming experience of:
- Siemens Simatic Step 7.
- Controllers and Drives
- WinCC Flex or Comfort
Working knowledge integrating machinery and equipment.
Experience working with industrial communication networks.
Troubleshooting and fault finding.
Functional safety standards
Experience using MATLAB.
Experience in operating and programming robots.
Electrical Circuit design.
