Electronics Commissioning Technician

Our client is a leading developer of smart wireless devices and solutions used in Subsea and Underground applications. They are looking for an Electronics Commissioning Technician to join their team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review project technical documentation and customer requirement spec with project team at beginning of project and utilise your expert commissioning knowledge to support the team with the best design and optimum functionality of new products
  • Support production with build and test of new, innovative prototype products
  • Integration of 3rd party devices & modules within our proprietary systems
  • Work with production technicians to exhaustively bench test and field trial new products, to ensure the highest standards of reliability, performance and usability
  • Engage with customers to arrange install and commissioning of our products
  • Undertake trials, installs and commissioning of our products on end user sites both on and offshore
  • Create & implement Factory and Customer Acceptance Test plans
  • Train and support end users in the operation of our products and encourage feedback for improvement
  • Develop and maintain integration documentation for products
  • Play a key role in the creation of end user documentation, user manuals etc
  • Conduct product demonstrations on customer sites
  • Provide remote customer support by email and phone

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • HNC / HND in electronics/electrical engineering
  • Current BOSIET or FOET offshore certification
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience working as a commissioning technician
  • Extensive experience of undertaking installs and troubleshooting in an offshore environment
  • As an ambassador for the company, you will have Impeccable customer facing skills and be a strong, confident communicator
  • Due to the nature of the commissioning work, you will frequently be working without direct colleague support, therefore you must be confident and skilled in working autonomously
  • You will possess a high level of soldering skills with fine pitch SMT components
  • Demonstrates a methodical approach to product testing, troubleshooting and record keeping
