Pump Fitter

An experienced pump fitter based in Grimsby. The position is available due to the continues expansion of the business and can be offered on either a contract or permanent basis.
To be successful in this position candidates will need to have extensive experience stripping down and rebuilding a variety if mechanical pumps and the associated equipment, sectors in which this has been achieved is open as the practical hands on knowledge is more important than industry knowledge, however previous experience in Water, Utilities, Mining or Energy is highly advantageous.
Responsibilities will include:
- Disassembly and assembly of pumps.
- Assembly of associated equipment such as motors, fans, gearboxes etc.
- Performing self-inspection for quality control purposes.
- Service and repair of various mechanical pumps.
- Occasional need to travel to site to perform installations or repairs.
This will be a workshop-based role working straight days Monday to Friday.
Candidate requirements.
Ability to read and work from detailed technical drawings.
Solid understanding and experience with pumps and ideally motor and gearboxes.
Proven experience within either a mechanical workshop environment or field-based role.
Formal training i.e. apprenticeship, degree or NVQ in a relevant engineering field.
