Chargehand (Metal Shop)

Carbon60 are currently recruiting for an experience metal shop Charge hand on a permanent basis to join an established manufacturing company based in Sutton. This position will be working closely with the production manager in a supervisory capacity to ensure all work is planned out and met as well as any maintenance is carried out regularly to ensure all machines are operational at all times.

The Main machines used in this metal shop are:

• Brake Press
• Folding Machines
• Punch Press
• CNC (lathe and mills)
• Welding

The successful candidate will need to have experience with the majority of these machines.

Further responsibilities will include:

• Improve workflow efficiency and times.
• Minimise downtime and waste
• Coordinate raw materials stock.
• Drive continuous improvement
• Support lean activities.

Experience required:

Previous experience in a supervisory role is desired but we will look at candidates looking to take the next step up.

experience within a metal/machine shop is essential.

have a solid understanding of metal fabrication.

Strong organisational skills.

Ability to motivate and lead a team.

Good IT skills
