Test Automation Engineer

Our client is a leader in the development of embedded computing solutions used in challenging environmental conditions, predominantly in defence, military and aerospace applications. They are looking to hire a Test Automation Engineer to develop high-quality automated test solutions, which are deployed as part of their Manufacturing process and support the validation activities of products.

Their products encompass a broad range of ruggedized embedded computing solutions, designed around the latest Intel, Freescale and ARM technology. In this role, you will develop, implement, document, test and deploy robust and efficient automated test solutions, always ensuring our delivery commitments can be achieved. As part of a global team of talented test solution designers, you will be contributing to our drive towards a companywide vision for test excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain embedded test sequences, equipment drivers, software, firmware and scripts to validate our products during development and through to Manufacturing.
  • Actively contribute to the company focus on global test convergence
  • Provide direct support to our Production Department to ensure timely deliveries to our customers.
  • Communicate status to key stakeholders in a timely and professional fashion.
  • Produce internal documentation for assigned tasks consistent with our engineering processes.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of Software Development Processes.

Desired Qualifications/Requirements

  • Experience of NI tools LabVIEW and TestStand - NI training certifications desired
  • A good understanding of Linux.
  • A good understanding of scripting languages such as Python or bash.
  • An awareness of DevOps tools such as Jenkins and Puppet
  • Strong problem-solving and creative, solution-building skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment
  • Awareness of computer architectures and hardware design
  • Awareness of modern Real-Time Operating Systems
