Carbon60 are currently recrui8ting for an experience Manufacturing Team Leader to join a well-established engineering company based in Leeds. This position has become available due to continued growth of the business and will report directly into the Head of Operations.

The main purpose of this Team Leader position is to coordinate and lead the manufacturing team driving efficiency and maintaining a safe working environment. This position will include the direct management of 2 shifts including machining, detailing, planning, programming and inspection.

Further Responsibilities will include:

  • Take full responsibility for production target achievement.
  • Accountability for cost centre budget.
  • Ensure quality and compliance is adhered to and meets company standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost reductions.
  • Allocate manpower and resources to ensure production schedules are achieved.
  • Direct responsibility for recruitment of temporary staff.
  • Attend management meetings.
  • Participate in Capex proposals and support processes/
  • Cooperate with Environmental, Health and Safety systems.
  • Mentor, motivate and supervise the performance of direct staff.
  • Conduct Appraisal and disciplinaries.

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience within a team leader/Supervisor role.
  • Experience working within production/engineering environments.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate staff and resources.
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques.
  • Basic understanding of financial controls.
  • Ability to motivate and train multi skilled production staff.
  • Experience of machining is advantageous.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Knowledge of EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety)
  • Knowledge of Risk Assessments and COSHH.
