Programme Manager

As a Programme Manager you will help GHD on their mission to make water, energy and urbanisation sustainable for generations to come. You will play a key role on supporting a future that genuinely benefits everyone.

This role is based in our UK based offices, located in Newcastle, York, Leeds, Manchester, Chester, Nottingham, London, or Guildford; but there's no borders when it comes to the project, you'll work with our team regularly working with our clients in Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East and beyond. Think of it as gaining international experience from your own backyard.

You will help achieve this mission by:

  • Ensuring the timely delivery of projects within budget and quality
  • Engaging with stakeholders to understand the objectives of each project and strategies to deliver these
  • Leading the Programme team of Design, Structural and Mechanical Engineers to deliver the project milestones and objectives
  • Managing all commercial risks for GHD
  • Ensuring excellent communication, co-ordination and information flow between the UK and overseas teams
  • Ensuring that agreed milestones are met, engaging with the necessary internal stakeholders to overcome potential obstacles to successful delivery

You will need:

  • Be a Chartered Engineer or equivalent, with demonstrable experience of managing design projects from cradle to grave
  • Have sector experience across both infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects in the Water sector
  • Have excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Be a flexible team player, who's initiative and flair inspire the team to deliver under sometimes demanding deadlines
  • Have experience of managing design projects to time, cost and quality objectives and have knowledge of programming and earned value techniques
  • Be able to work independently and within a multi-disciplined team
  • Be familiar with BIM and 3D modelling techniques for design and coordination purposes
  • Have excellent customer focus and the ability to be flexible to engage with all levels of stakeholder
