Service Configuration and Information ManagerThe role of Configuration and Information Manager is to create and execute industry standards for configuration and information management.You will need the following skills specifically for this role, to be applied along with your wider knowledge and experience of IT Service Management practices.· Responsible for maintaining accurate and reliable information about the configuration of services, and the configuration items (CIs) that support them, and that it is available when and where it is needed.· Responsible for the management and implementation of Configuration Management Systems to record the attributes of CIs in Configuration Management Databases, ensuring that relationships are created and updated in the CMDB· Understands best practices and determines optimised procedures for updating CI data including the use of automated processes, discovery tools/integrations with other data sources, and manual input processes as necessary.· Provide coaching and training for CMDB stakeholders to ensure appropriate understanding of the Service Configuration and Asset Management system and its relationship to Change Management and other key ITSM processes.· Develop and ensure compliance with the naming conventions and standards to be used to uniquely identify object types, environments, processes, lifecycles, documentation, versions, formats, baselines, releases, and templates.· Responsible for the implementation of the Configuration and Data Management plan which details how configuration will be managed across services in scope of this role.· Responsible for the implementation of the Information Management plan which details the hierarchy and architecture for information and how it should be managed securely across environments.· Perform regular reviews and audits to ensure that all changes and updates to information such as process changes, service descriptions etc have been captured correctly.· Maintain the Enterprise Architecture Service Model in response to Business As Usual changes.· Functional Management of the team of Configuration and Information Administrators who are responsible for supporting service requests and associated configuration changes.· Work closely and collaboratively with all other Service Delivery personnel including the Service Asset Management team in order for the overall success of programme delivery to our customers.
