Maintenance Engineer

Our client are a market leader in the development of innovative water solutions through the use of the latest technology.

We require a Maintenance Engineer to work onsite at Drax Power Station near Selby, North Yorkshire.

The position is a contract position anticipated to last around 2 years.

40 hour working week (08:00 - 17:00)

This role has been deemed in scope or IR35 and will pay up to £33 p/h via Umbrella or up to £25 p/h PAYE.

The Role:

• Fitting experience on plant items such as: Gearboxes, Centrifugal pumps and Turbine equipment, including rotors.
• The ability to dimension check using a variety of micrometers, feeler gauges and slip gauges.
• Fitting to tool room standards.
• Ensuring safe practices and procedures are adopted.
• The understanding and capability to deliver the high levels of quality workmanship to tight timescales.

The Client supports a portfolio of power plants, overhauling and repairing heavy engineering parts during outages.

Candidates must have completed a recognised apprenticeship and training in Mechanical Engineering (i.e. NVQ L2 or equivalent).

We also need successful applicants to be confined space trained.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to solve problems logically and confidently with minimum supervision but also have a willingness to promote the benefits of team working. Willingness to undertake training for the benefit of the team and personal development is expected.
