Mechanical Manufacturing Workshop Manager

Full Time Permanent Position

The company is a UK leading organisation specialising in industrial mechanical and electrical installations. This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Manufacturing Workshop Manager join the company, supporting projects in Birmingham and across the U.K. from their head office workshop in Kings Norton.

Duties:

To provide technical, engineering and management support to a small highly effective team based at the Kings Norton manufacturing site. The role liaises closely with the team, which has overall responsibility to delivery manufacturing services to the entire Group and will involve the production of process pipework, vessels, tanks, secondary steel work, gantries, viewing platforms and other one off bespoke pieces.

Job Purpose:

To generate a pipeline of process orientated work flow through the workshop taking total responsibility for the fabrication of this works in accordance with company objectives and legislation. This will include managing labour and resources effectively to ensure project completion on time and within budget. Providing customer quotations based upon scope of works documents and site visits as necessary. Creating the necessary work flows to satisfy Quality Plans and Specifications, in accordance with company policies, procedures, UK Regulations and client requirements. Supporting the Managing Director in the growth and profitability of the Division by taking full P&L responsibility for the profitability of the workshop.

About You

You will have completed of a recognised qualification or time served trade apprenticeship. With experience in a similar role within an industrial and/or manufacturing environment, working under quality procedures. Along with welding and fabrication experience you will need to demonstrate an understand of engineering drawings, the use of a variety of machinery and a knowledge of all types of steels and their use.

Experience of manufacturing to EN10/90 is essential for this role.

Based ideally in the West Midlands you will need to live within a commutable distance of B30 3HP.
