My client is currently looking for a Site Engineer to join their team in Weybridge, Surrey.
The right candidate will have experience in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, overseeing the quality and safety of work on site. Alongside making sure that plans and specifications are being followed correctly.
Duties include: performing regular inspections of the work on site and comparing completed work with drawings and specifications.

Principal Accountabilities:

* Operation of plant and equipment, inspection of M&E equipment and systems to ensure safe operation in accordance with agreed procedures and company quality standards* Participate in the upkeep of records covering the servicing of plant and equipment and in the efficient organisation of the planned preventative maintenance system and site asset register* As appropriate, be appointed as Authorised Person for: Electrical High Voltage, Electrical Low Voltage, Pressurised Systems and Gas Systems* When required, provide effective supervision and co-ordination of visiting sub-contractor's staff and to report on non-conformances and/or safety violations* To perform the duties of a skilled person, authorised to receive and issue permits to work in/on: Electrical Systems including Hazardous Areas and Boiler and Pressure Vessels* To ensure spare parts, consumables, materials and tools inventory for the maintenance of plant and equipment is maintained and to ensure the safe and secure storage of such* To participate in the rectification of major incidents/faults. Additionally, to investigate and report on all accident involving staff and sub-contractors and to take appropriate corrective measures* To assist in the planning and to participate in maintenance associated with building power down* To prepare and deliver Toolbox Safety Talks at regular intervals* To ensure the appropriate communication regarding the status of requests for service is relayed to the person making the request and to check, by personal reference, that the work has been carried out to their satisfaction* Fully meet and exceed the EMCOR UK objectives including cost, operational culture change, sharing best practice initiatives, improved systems/procedure and world class service provision* To manage technical expertise of primary supported systems including HV/LV distributions, UPS, generators, HVAC plant and systems, BMS and fire alarm systems* Ensure policies and procedures are strictly adhered to, in order to maintain the integrity of operational activities, e.g. IMS, H&S, ISO14001 legislative* To carry out any additional job specific responsibilities as directed
Person Specification:
  • An ONC or equivalent qualification FM or similar discipline
  • M&E background and qualifications
  • Ability to direct, and lead a workforce
  • Excellent communicator, influence and negotiation skills
  • Working knowledge of H&S legislation
