
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to work on a high-profile project in Great Yarmouth. As Quantity Surveyor, you will be managing a number of packages and demonstrating effective delivery and up-front procurement for contracts. You will be dealing and interfacing with 4-5 major subcontractors, working in accordance with the client's systems and ensuring a high level of diligence to get procurement over the line. This position is full time site based at their site office. Occasional travel to other office locations may be required for meetings. Role is deemed inside IR35. Responsibilities
- Contractual advice
- Contractor selection advise
- Preparation of tender and contract documentation i.e.. bills of quantities & schedules of rates
- Concentration on procurement
- Reviewing tender documents i.e., drawings and specifications
- Control and administration of sub-contractor packages and orders
- Cost value reconciliations (CVR)
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
- Monitor labour, plant and materials spend
- Manage & monitor costs and ensure projects are completed within their projected budget
- Conducting site surveys (re-measure) & creating progress reports, cost plans and cashflow forecasts
- Preparation of and making applications for payments
- Attending site and client meetings
- Liaison with client and project management team with respect to cost control on the projects
- Undertake value engineering where required by client
- Ensure client variations and technical queries are obtained and valued correctly
- Produce monthly cost reports
- Settlement of final accounts
Requirements
- Must have strong NEC contract experience
- Must have strong experience within procurement
- 3+ years in similar QS role
- HND / HNC or degree in quantity surveying
- Experienced in contractual advice, contractor selection, preparation & review of tender and contract documentation, and forms of contract.
- Excellent communication and organisation
- Comfortable in client facing position, liaising with all levels and holding regular client meetings
- Computer literate e.g. Microsoft office suite
- You will need DBS & BPSS security clearance to work on a MOD site (this can be arranged upon agreed offer.
