Job Purpose

• To support site with a 24-hour security service.
• To provide support as far as is reasonably practicable in the protection of site assets from the effect of fire, accidental or malicious loss, damage, and unauthorised removal.

Duties include:

• To always remain alert in the maintenance of the site's integrity and in the protection of its assets.
• Control of all entrances of vehicles, visitors and contractors to site and site car parks and conduct site inductions or provide passes when required.
• Be aware of what actions to take in the event of a site emergency.
• Have undertaken a site induction where required.
• Conduct random checks/searches on vehicles & persons leaving the site and check vehicle security tags when leaving the transport gate.
• Provide telephone support service during your normal working hours.
• Patrol the site during day & Night working hours as directed by the security supervisor & site AI's.
• Operate public address, personal call and two-way radio systems as required.
• Keep security office and personal appearance up to the established service.
• Operate computer in relation to security documents, mail etc and operate and monitor CCTV.
• Monitoring of various alarm systems and carrying our appropriate procedures.
• Reporting of building maintenance issues
• To ensure exemplary standards in personal grooming, strictly adhering to the site uniform requirements.
• Maintain continuous monitoring of site radio systems always adhering to correct radio procedures.
• Diligent management and maintenance of site records / reference materials including Health & Safety records, Incident Forms, and the site Daily Occurrence Book. (DOB)
• Ensure a timely response to all security issues and events.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential

• SIA Licence
• Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Security Radio operations

Desirable

• Experienced security officer
• First Aid Certificate
• Fire Marshall (Knowledge/qualification)
• CCTV operation
• Physically fit to withstand site patrol.
