Job Title - Electronic Test TechnicianReporting to - Production Manager
ResponsibilitiesTest:* Production test of the company's electronic products.* Develop and work to test procedures.* Repair to PCBA's component level* Continual improvement of test methods, fixtures and process* Fault analysis and rectification* Work with Engineering in testing new designs and modifications* Production of relevant documentation including test data, SoC etc.* Support customer service as required* Work unsupervised* Work on customers site as required (UK and international)* Working with Engineers to develop electro - mechanical designs* Test prototypes, review and analyse test data against specification
General:* Co-operating with other staff, where appropriate, to ensure a smooth workflow and fostering a co-operative attitude in others.* Ensuring the safe working conditions and general comfort of any employee under the direct responsibility or occupied in the immediate working area.* Acting at all times in the best interest of the Company. In particular, by not divulging information concerning the activities, products, designs or processes of the Company or its Customers to any third party or giving assistance in any way to its competitors.* Working offsite as required which will require travel in the UK and abroad.Typical Work ActivitiesTypical work activities will usually include some or all of the following:* Electronic testing of the company's products requiring a high degree of technical competence, the ability to resolve issues and get the job done.* Repair malfunctions in circuitry at PCBA level to component level* The creation and maintenance of test plan, rigs and fixtures* Continuous improvement of the system test process, resolving issues and improving efficiency* Test system configuration control* Keeping records of tests and undertaking analysis of trends* Liaison with Engineering on technical matters* Undertaking development activities working alone or with Engineering* Working closely with other staff, such as project managers, designers, developers, support staff, sales and marketing professionals.* Consulting clients/colleagues concerning the maintenance and performance of systems and asking questions to obtain information, clarify details and implement information.* continually updating technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and/or external courses, reading manuals and accessing new applications.
Qualifications and Experience* HNC / apprenticeship as electronic technician* Degree in a scientific /technical subject preferably with an electronics component* Good electronic skills
Skills/ AbilitiesEssential:* Hands-on experience with electronic testing and circuitry* Able to demonstrate Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail, able to follow procedures and resolve issues Able to work alone* Fault finding and resolution skills of electronic systems* Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, able to communicate clearly, effectively, and efficiently, and form effective working relationships with customers, colleagues, suppliers and third parties* Personal Attributeso Professional and presentableo Positive attitude, with a desire to learn new skillsPreferable:* Previous experience as electronic technician or similar role* "Good grade" at 'A' level (or equivalent) in Physics and Mathematics Desirable* Previous experience working with scientific products
