Trainee Machinist

Carbon60 are currently working in partnership with a leading Aviation manufacturing company based in Hayes, West London to recruit a Trainee Machinist to join the existing production team.

The purpose of the position will be to learn and operate a wide variety of both CNC and Manual Machines such as Lathes, Mills, Pillar Drills,Routers, Plasma Cutters and Water Jet Cutters.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a company that can offer an entry level role with progression into a full machinist position.

• • Responsibilities:

  • Produce and repair precision engineering parts and components for the aviation sector.
  • Use of precision measuring devices and tools such as micrometers, calipers, verniers, gauges.
  • Operation of both manual and CNC machinery.
  • Set up and perform maintenance on machinery.
  • Plan job allocation and priority lists.
  • Operation of overhead crane.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with manual/CNC machines is desirable but not essential.
• Educated to minimum GCSE level.
• any knowledge or understanding of machining is highly advantageous.
• Abel to lift up to 20kg.
• Strong Attention to detail.

Working times:

Double days shift:

Week 1: 06:00 - 14:00 Monday to Friday.

Week 2: 14:00 - 22:00 Monday to Friday.
