STRESS ENGINEER

Carbon60 have an exciting new position for a Stress Engineer for a contract based in Basel, Switzerland. The contract is to start immediately and although for 6 months at first may go on longer. Flights are provided at the beginning and end of contract. Monday - Friday day shift. Excellent rates on offer.

Description

As part of the "Stress Engineering department" you will be responsible for successfully delivering Stress Engineering activity for assigned aircraft. You will contribute to daily operations and activities to ensure project results are met respecting budget, time, and quality targets. You will be collaborating closely with various stakeholders throughout the company to ensure that the projects are globally aligned and executed effectively.

You will work in collaboration with the Design Team to demonstrate structures' capability to safely withstand all the applicable load conditions by Theoretical and Numerical-Simulation methods.

According to the level of experience and responsibility, you will participate to Design Reviews and be involved on multidisciplinary product development activities.

Mandatory competences

• General Air frame design knowledge
• Certification requirements
• Metallic and/or Composite analysis techniques
• Manufacturer's methods and tools

Main Tasks

Stress Engineer's tasks are included in the following technical activities:

• Linear and Non-Linear Finite Element Analysis (model creation, analysis, and post-processing)
• Structural Parts, Assemblies and Junctions preliminary sizing
• Design verification and justification
• Design improvement/optimisation
• Non-Conformity's and Concessions
• Modifications and repair solutions justification

In addition to these main tasks the Stress Engineer is generally responsible for the redaction of all the needed documentation. Experience of the following would be advantageous MS Excel with VBA, Patran/FMAP, Nastran, Afgrow/Nasgro.
