Trainee Build Technician

Carbon60 are working in partnership with a well-established but growing aviation company, on the mechanical assembly of components on landing gear of aircraft

This is a trainee position, so it is a fantastic opportunity for an apprentice trained engineer or an engineering graduate who has gained practical aircraft experience or heavy industry experience to fully start their career.

Responsibilities and duties

• Learn the assembly process of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components on landing gear for large haul aircraft.
• Use hand and power tools to assemble components, following engineering drawings and diagrams.
• You will be required to keep a PREB (Practical Record Experience Book)
• Lift and move heavy aircraft components around the workshop.
• Any tasks or duties undertaken should follow in compliance to company and EASA safety/environmental standards

Skills and Qualifications

The role is that of a trainee so the ideal candidate must fulfil the following requirements:

• Candidate to have a minimum of 1 year of mechanical/electrical assembly experience.
• Candidate to have completed apprenticeship or equivalent (Desirable)
• Candidate to have experience within an MRO/Live aircraft environment.
• Ability to work in a workshop environment and follow safety procedures, wearing correct PPE and safety materials at all times.
• Ability to communicate well in written and spoken English.
• Candidate must have full working rights in the UK.

Candidates would be required to work double day shifts:

• Week 1: Monday to Friday: 06:00-14:00
• Week 2: Monday to Friday: 14:25-22:25
