
Systems & Applications AdministratorRole Summary/Purpose We are recruiting a Systems and Applications Administrator as part of our Engineering Department based in Towcester UK. In this role, you will collaborate with Engineers and IT staff members to develop and manage the technology infrastructure, which is critical to our development environment. With cyber security requirements increasing continually, you will drive and champion best practices within the department to help the business remaining compliant with the expectations of Cyber Essentials certification. - Work closely with IT on the update and upgrade of Engineering Systems, including firmware and O/S patching/upgrading and Engineering Application updates
- Work with the Engineering Leadership team, IT and other stakeholders to develop a roadmap for Engineering server infrastructure - On premises, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS
- Application administration of Engineering Tools (DOORS, Atlassian, Jenkins, repositories etc)
- Implement best practice security processes within the Engineering department and lab facilities, in line with UK Cyber Essentials requirements
- Communicate development status to key stakeholders in a timely and professional fashion
- Produce internal documentation for assigned tasks consistent with engineering procedures
- Participate in continuous improvement of Policies and Processes related to the above responsibilities
Essential Qualifications/Requirements
- Degree (2.1) (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline
- A demonstrable knowledge of DevOps and Engineering Applications, such as: Jenkins, Ansible, Python, GitLab, Atlassian, Foreman, Chocolatey, Artifactory, Landscape
- Experience working in both Linux and Windows infrastructures
- Strong understanding of scripting, for example, bash/python/ansible/powershell scripting
- Strong problem-solving and creative, solution-building skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work successfully in a team environment
Desired Requirements
- Strong understanding of Linux administration
- Exposure/understanding of UK Cyber Essentials requirements
- Awareness of computer architectures and hardware design
- Willing to travel internationally on occasion
