SMT Operator

Our client an electronics manufacturing company in Hook, Hampshire have the opportunity for a team of SMT (surface mount) operators to join their team in Hook on a permanent basis. The SMT (surface mount) operators will be responsible for carrying out Surface Mount Technology (SMT) activities to quality and industry standards.

Key responsibilities- SMT (surface mount) operators:

- Using written work instructions and items lists to assemble products to customer specifications and IPC-J-STD-001 Class 3 as directed

- Operating SMT machinery and carrying out machine maintenance as and when required

- Setting up all necessary equipment and carrying out necessary checks

- Programming SMT machinery as and when required

- Liaising with SMT Technician, the quality and engineering team regarding timescales, documentation and other SMT queries

- Complying with all 5S activities as required

Experience & person specification- SMT (surface mount) operators:

- Ability to work to written instructions and bills of materials

- IPC certification is required

- Understanding of component identification codes such as resistors and capacitors

- Good computer skills including Microsoft Office

- High attention to detail and accuracy

- Excellent level of dexterity

Salary: Between £21,000 - £24,000 PA depending on experience (plus a 20% shift allowance for the night shift)

Shifts Available: Day shift pattern: Monday - Thursday either 07:00- 15:30 or 07:30- 16:00pm & Friday either 07:00- 12:30 or 07:30- 13:00OR Night shift pattern: Monday - Wednesday 15:45 - 02:00 & Thursday 15.45 00.30
