Carbon60 are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer for a large engineering and industrial services provider. The position is based on site, in Barnsley.

The Maintenance Engineer role is a temporary to permanent position.

This will be mainly workshop based, with a requirement to work off site occasionally supporting another site.

Start : ASAP

Pay : £35,000 - £37,000

Hours : 8AM - 5PM Monday to Friday (Hour Lunch Break)

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be responsible for manufacturing and supply sealing and polymer products to a wide variety of equipment manufacturers across numerous industry sectors including HVAC, off-highway, food & beverage, automotive, rail, life-sciences, defence, and oil & gas.

You will need to ensure that the equipment, machinery and plant are maintained and repaired to ensure that the business operates effectively and meets the demands of its customers.

  • Develop and manage the asset register ensuring that all equipment is added to this and any PM tasks are highlighted and added
  • To develop a preventative maintenance program for all equipment and machinery
  • Preventative maintenance to be in place for sites
  • Reactive task data to be collated for all sites to ensure full preventative measures are in place.
  • Analyse data from breakdown and repairs to ensure that preventative tasks are in place to prevent repeat failures and minimise downtime
  • To ensure that preventative maintenance system is live and as up to date as possible at all times
  • To ensure all spare parts are held in stock , monitored and adjusted
  • To ensure all services are planned in and carried out to minimise downtime
  • Ensuring that all relevant qualifications are held and up to date.
  • Ensure that plans are in place to ensure that installation and commissioning of machinery and equipment can take place.
  • Ensure that daily, weekly , monthly and annual tasks are complete and recorded
  • Improve health and safety procedures and strategies
  • Identify, initiate, plan and drive continuous improvement processes including development of new and existing processes to attain maximum efficiency
  • Ensuring that all Intelex tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • To ensure that all departmental planning is adequate to meet customer due date requests
  • To ensure all maintenance is carried out to achieve production output to meet the production schedules and production targets.
  • Achievement of Specific Improvement Programmes
  • To ensure wiring regulations are adhered to when installing and repairing
  • Ensure that all quality and Health & Safety policies are adhered to and implemented
  • To ensure that any tools, equipment or consumables are ordered and kept in the correct locations
  • Assist with organising workshop, vans and personnel to ensure tidy, safe working practices and storage of equipment
  • Supervision of personnel and procedures in relation to company HSEQ policy
  • Contributing to the maintenance of Health and Safety in the workplace
  • Good team working skills as well as working on own initiative
  • Promote good housekeeping for an efficient working environment
  • Promote Health & Safety and good housekeeping in an efficient working environment, reporting all cases of non-conformance
