A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Production Planner at a renowned Defence company. You will be responsible for creating a Master Planning Schedule (MPS). This includes coordinating the various production requirements of the business into one MPS that is achievable.

We are looking for a Production Planner to join a defence company that specialises in the conversion of commercial vehicles to armoured vehicles with military applications.

Due to the nature of the company, we are looking for someone to support the Production Manager, ensure that adequate resources are available to support the Master Planning Schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding the available build slots, consolidate the demand of various projects into one MPS.
  • Regularly review the MPS and adjust accordingly to suit current demand.
  • Liaise with the Material Controllers to ensure inbound material matches the MPS for smooth production.
  • Raise Production Works Orders (PWO) for production vehicles.
  • Ensure that PWO's are adjusted to reflect the current MPS.
  • Close PWO's once vehicles are completed to allow invoicing.
  • Ensure any change requests to BOM's are reflected in the MPS based on material availability.
  • Support the Material Controllers when required with expediting, or shortage identification.

Requirements:

  • Operations experience in low/medium volume automotive production.
  • Experience of supply chain and planning
  • Manufacturing background with qualification preferred, ideally APICS, or HNC level, or relevant experience.
  • Understanding of system integration and configuration management.
  • Possess drive, energy and enthusiasm to delivery within tight deadlines.
  • Extensive experience of manufacturing support tools such as SAP & MRP.
  • Competent in the composition of BOMs and Production Schedules.

Working the hours of Monday - Thursday: 7:30am - 4:30pm - Friday: 7:30am - 2pm

As this organisation works on behalf of the Ministry of Defence, all candidates will need to hold sole British Citizenship and will need to be able to pass a self-funded basic DBS (criminal record check)

The role is inside IR-35 so we will be unable to engage with LTD companies
