My client is a major Electronics Manufacturing Service company with 36 years' experience of producing Electronics from 3 manufacturing facilities of modern production space. They are involved with complete Product Build, ready tested and delivered to the end user. Supporting customers globally, they work in a number of sectors including but not limited to Automotive, Aerospace, Comms, Defence, Industrial, Oil & Gas, Medical, Transport and Nuclear.
Their vision is to be the customers' first choice for the manufacture of mission critical, high technology electronics, adding value globally and they are dedicated to delivering innovation and service excellence by investing in design, build and fulfilment of their Customers Products PURPOSE OF ROLE As Prototype Engineer, you will support the Power Electronics (PE) Engineering department in the development, and manufacture of Power Electronics (PE) components and assemblies, including tooling, fixtures, and test equipment. PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES * To perform, assess and report early-stage process development utilising our in-house manufacturing equipment * To optimise manufacturing methods with hands-on build and testing of prototypes * To support and maintain product test and verification, including measurement analysis and reporting. * To apply and maintain quality systems used in our engineering processes and practices for the manufacturing of products. * To provide professional and technical expertise and feedback to support the PE team * Meet department and company objectives. * Develop professional and personal skills through education, training and development within the team and externally TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS * Qualified to HNC level or equivalent, through relevant experience, as a minimum in mechanical, electrical or production engineering. * Basic Knowledge of CAD and understanding detail drawings and schematics * Ability to analyse build and test requirements and apply appropriate practical methods to meet specification criteria * Good working experience of Engineering manufacturing processes and their selection to meet specified requirements * Experience of planning and prioritising personal workload * Capable of supporting concept developments using 'Design of Experiment' practice. * Familiarity with root cause analysis principles, using problem-solving techniques and implementing corrective actions. * An understanding of ISO quality standards would be advantageous. * Experience of working within multi-disciplined teams. * Good written and verbal communication skills * Computer literate and adept with Microsoft office toolset
