MDA Infrastructure Engineer

Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) Digital Infrastructure Engineer - Portsmouth Based (Flexible working available).

My defence client based in Portsmouth have a new contracted opportunity for a Digital Infrastructure Engineer to work within a team of System/Network Administrators and Software Developers who are responsible for providing solutions to maritime situational awareness problem sets.

We currently have a position open for an experienced Digital Infrastructure Engineer who can develop, deliver and provide support to a range of MDA systems. We're interested to speak to candidates with a broad range of skills who are eager to up-skill and learn on the job.

The main duties of this position are:

• Analysing, designing, planning, executing and evaluating work to time, cost, and quality
• Understanding and communicating the role and impact of applied technology in the deploying organisation
• Provision of Support Desk/Incident Desk assistance (1st and 2nd line support)
• Collaborating with team members, users, customers, and suppliers to ensure operational and business needs are met throughout
• Assessing, evaluating, articulating, and escalating programme and project risk

Essential skills:

• Ability to hold MOD DV Security clearance
• DevOps, CI/CD and Agile practices
• VMware, Private cloud hosting, LAN/WAN/Security Network Infrastructure, Firewalls
• Kubernetes/Docker
• Servers (Windows/Linux)

Desirable Skills:

• Maritime Experience
• Confluence/Jira/Sharepoint/MS Teams
• MOD Standards (JSP 440/441/604, ISO 9001/27001, DEFSTANs, SCIDA)
